The Second Amendment Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in June 2016 by Tyler Yzaguirre. SAI exists to educate, activate, and empower Americans to be effectively mobilized in defense of the Second Amendment.

Education is the cornerstone of SAI’s work. Through principled, fact-based advocacy, the Institute confronts direct attacks on Americans’ Constitutional right to keep and bear arms while working to prevent the passage of inappropriate and ineffective gun control measures.

By disseminating verifiable facts and sound legal analysis, SAI exposes unjustified rhetoric and corrects misinformation. In doing so, the organization seeks not only to inform, but to change hearts and minds—even among those who have traditionally supported gun control.

At the same time, SAI is actively recruiting and training the next generation of Second Amendment supporters, including Americans who advocate for strong self-defense protections on college campuses and beyond.
